Empower yourself. delve into the ethics and science of lab-grown diamonds

What Are Lab Grown Diamonds?
At Kitóko Diamonds, our lab-grown diamonds are meticulously created in state-of-the-art laboratories that mirror the natural conditions found deep within the Earth’s mantle. Utilizing the advanced Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) method, we initiate the growth of each diamond from a carbon seed, carefully nurturing it to maturity.
These diamonds are not just replicas; they are genuine carbon crystals, structurally identical to mined diamonds, ensuring they share the same optical, chemical, and physical characteristics. The precise control over the diamond-growing environment allows us to guarantee the quality and origin of every gem, providing a sustainable and ethically sourced alternative to traditional mining.
Kitóko Diamonds combines modern scientific achievement with a commitment to sustainability, offering you beautifully crafted diamonds with transparent origins. Our process not only reduces environmental impact but also ensures that each diamond is a testament to ethical luxury. Choose Kitóko Diamonds for your assurance of both beauty and integrity.

Are lab- grown diamonds real?
Absolutely! At Kitóko Diamonds, our lab-grown diamonds are of the highest quality, identical to mined diamonds in chemical composition, crystalline structure, brilliance, and hardness. They are evaluated by the same “4Cs” used for mined diamonds: clarity, cut, colour, and carat.
Each of our lab-grown diamonds starts as rough that is meticulously shaped by skilled artisans to reveal the unique fire and beauty within each stone. This distinction makes Kitóko Diamonds a superior alternative. Not only are they conflict-free and ethical, but they also offer a more accessible price point. Our commitment to sustainability means that each diamond not only enhances your elegance but does so by respecting both people and the planet. Choose Kitóko Diamonds for unmatched beauty and integrity, reflecting modern values with every sparkle.

How Are Lab Grown Diamonds Made?
Lab-grown diamonds are crafted using two advanced techniques: High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT) and Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD). Both methods start with a small diamond seed, which is subjected to conditions that mimic those deep within the Earth—intense heat and pressure in HPHT, and layer-by-layer deposition of crystallized carbon in CVD. This process allows each diamond to develop unique characteristics and inclusions, just like those mined from the earth.
Both mined and lab-grown diamonds are composed of carbon and undergo the same cutting and polishing processes, making them indistinguishable in terms of optical, chemical, thermal, and physical properties.

Lab Grown Diamonds vs Mined Diamonds
At Kitóko Diamonds, our lab-grown diamonds match mined diamonds in composition, hardness, and appearance, sharing the same exquisite qualities.
The essential difference is their origin: our diamonds are ethically and sustainably cultivated in controlled laboratory environments above ground, whereas mined diamonds are extracted from beneath the earth. This sustainable approach allows us to offer both luxury and integrity in every diamond.

Are our diamonds certified?
Yes, all diamonds above 0.50 ct. are certified and are graded on cut, clarity, colour and carat using the exact same standard as mined diamonds by the IGI or GIA. Both the IGI and the GIA are dedicated to ensuring the public trust in diamonds quality by upholding the highest standards of integrity, academics, science and professionalism.
The GIA (Gemological Institute of America) is widely recognised as the world’s foremost authority in gemology, including diamonds, coloured stones, and pearls. Through research, education, and laboratory services, the GIA serves the public interest through objective gemstone evaluation, including identification.
Kitoko also follows international diamond industry association (CIBJO) standards to ensure that weight is always at or above the target we promise. All stones at 0.50 ct. and above are certified by the IGI (International Gemological Institute) or The GIA (Gemological Institute of America).
Diamonds vs Diamond Stimulants
Mined diamonds and Lab-grown diamonds are authentic diamonds.
Moissanite and cubic zirconia are diamond stimulants.
Diamond simulants may appear similar to diamonds but lack the same chemical and physical properties. Moissanites are created to mimic the look of diamonds but differ significantly in composition and appearance. They possess unique qualities in durability, brilliance, and colour that set them apart from diamonds. Unlike diamonds that are evaluated based on the 4Cs (cut, colour, clarity, and carat), moissanites are primarily graded on their colour alone, highlighting their distinct nature and use as an alternative in jewellery.
